Cinderella Cast Members Reunite

By Alice F.

“Once upon a time in a far away land there was a tiny, but lovely kingdom. And in this kingdom lived a beautiful young girl named Cinderella.” exclaimed the narrators while filming for a special school project. On January 11th, 2011 at 9:30am, Mrs. Grimes; the musical theatre director, Mrs. Bleher; the director’s assistant, a videographer and some of the former Cinderella cast members gathered at The Classical Academy in Escondido. They were there to film a little bit of TCA’s October 2010 musical theatre production of Cinderella for a school award.
Before they started, cast members talked quietly amongst themselves. The excitement of being on stage and the memories of their performance together last October filled the room. The cast of characters assembled there were; Cinderella, Stepmother, Minerva, Drizella, Fairy godmother, the mice, Prince Charming, King, Queen, the King and Queen’s royal servant Lionel, Harold; the royal announcer, the Chefs, the two horses and the townspeople. Within a few minutes, Mrs. Grimes announced it was time to start. Then, everyone went to their places and performed the numbers from Cinderella: “The Tale of Cinderella”, “The Prince is Giving a Ball”, “Your Majesties”, “The Work Song (Reprise)” and lastly, “A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes”. The videotaping was arranged by Mrs. Grimes. She sent out an email invitation to all of the cast members requesting their participation.
“You guys did wonderful this morning. Thanks so much for coming everyone!!” said Mrs. Grimes. The Cinderella cast members agreed it was fun to go back to a play they performed four months ago. Amazingly, everybody remembered the words and choreography perfectly! Congratulations cast members, for a job well done.
