Lewis and Clark are Exploring Louisana!

Meriwether Lewis and William Clark are heading off to find a route to the Pacific Ocean! They are setting out in July 1803 with about one hundred men. Most of them are between the ages of nineteen and thirty-one and lots are scientists, or solders. They range from white, black, or a dog.
With them they are bringing objects to trade with the Indians, whom they hope to make friends with. They will have to leave family and friends behind for an estimated twelve to twenty-four months. The president, Thomas Jefferson, wishes them the best of luck, and prays that they will return safely with a new route to the Pacific Ocean.
