Ancient History

By Ariel G.
Grade 13, New York

A invisible tear rolls down my cheek,
I hear the teachers talking about you and Melanie,
I say silently to myself,
That is not how it should be?
It should be us,
You and me.

We were friends forever,
Well, until you made me choose between you,
Now, Ever since,
I can hardly speak to you,
I try, but no words come out when I want to,
I hate to say it,
But we are Ancient History.

It may not really hurt me,
But it did when you didn't invite me,
To the party,
Where people I didn't even know you knew were invited,
Everyone was except for me.
