From
1900 to1920, the United States went through a lot of
changes both at home and abroad. At home, African Americans
were leaving the southern states in large numbers to
find better opportunities in northern cities like Chicago
and Detroit. Meanwhile, millions of immigrants were
coming into the United States hoping to make their lives
better too. Women were trying to make their lives better
by fighting for their right to vote, and the country
found itself in the First World War a war that covered
the world with tragic consequences.
