Worldwide Wordplay

Words, words, words. Do you find words witty and wonderful? Or, do you just like the challenge of a good puzzle? Either way, get ready for some fun with words!

What do you do with a puggree? Have you ever carked? Play Fake Out! at Houghton Mifflin's Education Place and see if you can guess the meaning of these and other words. Then, make up your own definitions and see how many people you can fake out!

Get ready to compete against other vocabulary mavens at the Funster game site. Choose your skill level and enter a room. In the allotted time, come up with as many words as you can from the letters that appear on the screen.

What do kayak, radar, solos, and dad have in common? They're all palindromes. That means they read the same forward as they do backward. If you're hooked on palindromes, then check out Bob's Palindrome Page, where you'll find both English palindromes and ones in other languages.
