PlaceBooks: The Scholastic PlaceBook series sets the framework for the program. Each PlaceBook (12" x 12") contains beautiful photographs and includes a photographic journey by our language-loving characters. The photographs help make the real-world connection for children — which is so important for them as they are always wanting to know more about the world that they live in. The PlaceBook includes the unit's key vocabulary, along with images, to help children learn new words and comprehend new ideas. With this, children can play with words through songs, chants, and poems, and during Choice Time child-initiated explorations.
