Dear Reader,
Have you ever traveled by camper? It's like having your mouse hole on wheels. You can go to wonderful faraway places without ever being more than a few steps from your own comfy bed, and without having to eat anything but delicious home cooking. At least, that's the way it's supposed to be
But for me, it wasn't like thatnot at all. Instead of going to someplace like Yellowmouse National Park, I visited frozen Ratzikistan, way up near the North Pole. Instead of staying in a nice warm bed at night, I got lost outside in the snow and the dark. And instead of getting delicious, hot, home-cooked food, I almost starved!
How could this happen to me, a mouse who hates being even a tiny bit uncomfortable? It was all because of my Grandfather Williamalso known as Cheap Mouse Willy. He's the tough old newspapermouse who started The Rodent's Gazette. He ran it for years and years, then put me in charge when he retired. But last month he came back, took over, and started bossing everyone around, all over again!
What could I do? Grandfather William said we had to visit Ratzikistan and write a guidebook about it, and I couldn't argue. I'm not a brave mouse, and Grandfather has a way of staring at you that could make a tomcat cry. So, Grandfather; his housekeeper, Tina Spicytail; my sister, Thea; and I got into his camper and set out on our journey.
The trip was a nightmare. I thought we'd never get back alive. But in the end, we made a surprising discovery that made it all worthwhile. Now I've written a book about our adventures. It's called A Cheese-Colored Camper , and I think you'll find that reading it will be a lot of fun. Especially because you can do it without actually having to go to awful, chilly, mouse-forsaken Ratzikistan.
Yours truly,
