Now it's time for you to do your own research, just like the scientists in the field.

You've learned a lot about past Native American cultures, but Native Americans are also an important part of our society today. In 1998 an estimated 2,360,000 Native Americans, including Indians, Eskimos, and Aleuts, lived in the United States. Many belong to tribes and live on reservations. Others live all over the country in cities and towns. In most ways, Native Americans live just like anyone else. Just like many Americans, they are proud of their culture and often work hard to preserve it.

To start your research, use our interactive map to find a tribe living in, or near, your state today.

Then you will research the tribe, using online and offline research.

After you've researched, you can publish your report online!
