Scholastic Reading Measure Reliability and Validity Study

SUMMARY

The Scholastic Reading Measure is a low-stakes, computer-adaptive test (CAT) that produces Lexile® measures for teachers to use in matching students to books, articles, and short reads at the right level for their independent reading, inform instruction and informally monitor students’ reading progress. This technical report details the research conducted to confirm the reliability and validity of the Lexile measures produced by the Scholastic Reading Measure.
