Here are some more challenges for you to try. The more red dots, the harder the challenge.
  1. Can you find something in the room that is the same length as:
    your hand?
    your foot?
    your thumb?
     
    Draw a picture of each object you find.

  2. Find five objects in the classroom that you can bring to your desk or table. Order the objects from shortest to longest. You can compare the objects by measuring each one. How do you know that they are in the correct order? Explain your answer.

  3. Measure the length of the rug, the classroom, or the hallway using giant steps (a big space between each step). Have a classmate help count and record the number of steps you take. Now measure the same space using "normal–sized" steps. Count and record. Finally, measure the same space again using heel–to–toe steps. Count and record. What difference does the size of steps make when you measure?
