Introduce the Lead Book with its slide show and engage the class in discussion. Read and discuss the book, and teach the close-reading and writing activities. Then teach the Stretch Texts.

Students read two Reader’s Choice books using the Reader’s Handbook for support and in-depth exploration. Slide shows and Stretch Texts are available for each Reader’s Choice book.

Wrap up the platform with narrative, argumentative and explanatory essay-writing activities and research projects.
