Scholastic Phonics Inventory (SPI)

The Scholastic Phonics Inventory is a reliable, computer-based decoding universal screening, assessment and progress-monitoring tool. Validated against the TOWRE Woodcock Johnson, the SPI uses various word discrimination tasks using both real and nonsense words to determine if decoding is the root cause of reading difficulty. If so, SPI helps determine student placement in System 44, and assesses student progress throughout the program.
