The Around Alone race is over. Tim Kent came in second when the 28,800-mile race ended in Newport, Rhode Island in early May. Kent trailed behind the first place winner in his category, Tommy Hilfiger: Spirit of America.
Kent sailed out of New York Harbor on September 15, aboard his one-person boat, Everest Horizontal. He and 13 other sailors, representing nine countries, are part of an eight-month-long race around the world. Called Around Alone, the race is staged every four years.
